Concerts and Sporting Events
If concerts and sporting events are your thing, then Yaletown is definitely the neighbourhood for you. Yaletown is just steps away from the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. The QE Theatre showcases some of the largest productions in Vancouver. Love Broadway shows? The QE is the place to be. Want tickets to the hottest sporting event in town? The Vancouver Canucks are just a short walk away at Rogers Arena.
Finally, catch some of the largest concerts and the local B.C. Lions at B.C. Place, also just steps away from Yaletown. These easily accessible concert and sporting venues are a great way to enjoy an evening out. Why not make the evening complete with a great pre-game dinner and post event drinks at your favourite Yaletown restaurant or bar? This lifestyle is all part of the total Yaletown experience and another reason as to why Yaletown is the perfect place to call home.
The Vancouver Aquabus is a unique experience and is a great way to get around the False Creek area. The Aquabus stops at some of Vancouver’s most popular destinations for both tourists and locals alike. Be sure to stop off at Granville Island and enjoy some of the finest artisan foods the city has to offer, or stop at Science World to take in an Omnimax movie or see the next big science exhibition. In addition to these attractions, the Aquabus also stops in Kitsilano, another trendy neighbourhood that offers unique restaurants and trendy boutique shopping experiences. The Aquabus is wheelchair, bicycle, pet and stroller friendly.
Science World is a Vancouver landmark and is located in what used to be the Expo Centre. Science World provides residents and tourists alike with a wide range of different science exhibits that are meant to inspire and educate. In addition to the exhibits, Science World also houses the Omnimax theatre. This unique theatre offers the largest dome screen in the world and complete wrap around digital sound. The Omnimax experience will make you feel that you are right in the middle of the action!
The Vancouver Public Library
The Vancouver Public Library has branches all around the city, but it is the Central Branch that is a must see Vancouver attraction. The Central Branch of the Vancouver Public Library occupies a full city block and is an architectural sight to behold that is meant to resemble the Coliseum in Rome. The library is nine stories high and houses a huge selection of books, magazines, CD’s and newspapers. It really is an experience that needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.
